Mr Wallet

Frequently asked questions

Why does Mr Wallet never show an approximate amount?

Mr Wallet stores every amount as an integer in minor units (cents, or the base unit for currencies without a subunit like XOF), never as a floating-point number. This eliminates the rounding errors that accumulate over time in a spreadsheet.

Does Mr Wallet support multiple currencies, including CFA franc?

Every account has its own currency. A single budget can combine XOF and EUR accounts: amounts are converted for display using a rate you enter yourself, never recalculated backward on the stored amounts. You stay in full control of the rate used.

Can I import my bank statements from a file?

The mapping from your file’s columns to a transaction’s fields (date, amount, label, category) can be saved as a reusable template, so your second import from the same bank is instant. No direct connection to your bank is required or offered: you export the file from your own banking portal.

How is my data protected?

No authentication token is ever stored in the browser’s local storage, where it would be exposed to an XSS flaw. Your financial data is strictly scoped to your account: no other user, including support staff, can view your transactions through a workaround.

Is Mr Wallet really free?

The free plan is a free plan, not a time-limited trial. If you’d like to be notified when the Pro plan launches, a contact link is available on the Pricing page.
